Emperor Wu of Wei made the Hu people dance and entertain. The Hu people carved animal heads with wood, two small and five small, clothed in animal clothes, collected eight music, and more than thirty warriors, dancing in front of the imperial court. Emperor Wu, Longxin, gave him the name "North Wei Rui Lion" and was allowed to return to China. Lion dances spread in the north, and later became known as the "North Lion".

Through the ingenious improvement of martial artists, the lion in the lion dances is no longer a fierce and fierce beast in the mountains and wild, but a kind, lovely and tame animal, sometimes acting like a sophisticated, heavy old man, sometimes like an innocent naughty child, often with its lovely character. This is a northern lion. Characteristics of child dance.

The shape of the northern lion and the cool zodiac of the real lion are not as large as the south lion, and there is no colourful decoration of the southern lion. It is purely the colour of animal hair, but the top of the one-angle is added to show different ordinary animals. The whole body is covered with a gelaquilt, and even the performer's trousers and shoes are the same colour as the real lion's leg colour, so dancing is a unique moving lion, giving people a real feeling.

When performing, the northern lion requires three dancers, one dances the lion's predecessor (i.e. the lion's head), one dances the lion's back, (i.e. lion's tail), and the other is a warrior, leading the lead.

The dancing posture of the northern lion is mainly in the goodness and dexterity of the performance, rolling and jumping, combining the beginning and tail, and combining the neat pace. In addition, the music beats such as Jingquo, Beijing gong and Jinggu dance according to the sound of music, the lead dancers the ball to the ball, showing the heroism of the warrior, Xu Xu holds the ball to lead the lion to dance, and the lion dancers, except those who follow the ball warriors. In addition to performing various dances, you must also give full tacit understanding to the lion-tail dancers, while the lion-tail dancers must also pay attention to the direction of the lion's head, and the head and tail must also move, and the head and tail must also be determined, jump and roll, closely follow, so that the head and tail can dance together to integrate and dance skills.

The Legend

Legend one: Emperor Wudi of Northern Wei expeditioned to Hexi, Gansu Province, capturing 100,000 Hu people. Emperor Wu of Wei trapped them in a famine for three years. One day, Emperor Wu of Wei visited the restricted area and will be entertained by banquets and entertaining the Hu people. The Hu people carved animal heads with wood, two small and five small, clothed in animal clothes, collected eight music, and more than thirty warriors, dancing in front of the imperial court. The dancer acts as a form of joy, or as a poor prime minister, and the dance skills are wonderful, which makes Emperor Wudi sigh. Emperor Wudi rumoured that the Hu people were asked what they were dancing. The Hu people replied, "North Wei pilgrimage, Sifang Kuangfu, Xi Lianglebuki, with the emperor's kindness." Emperor Wu listened to Long Xin and gave him a name to Northern Wei Rui Lion, and was allowed to return to China. Since then, lion dance has spread in the north, so it is called a northern lion.
