The fixed stall of the vendor stall is not fixed at the beginning of Hong Kong. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was popular to sell large-scale land, and hawker stalls were sold in open space(Dada Land 大笪地), and there were also sales, singing and storytelling.

The performance slowly became a place for common people to entertain themselves. Famous "Dada Land" in that year included the Central Reclamation, Hung Hom Reclamation, Wanchai Reclamation, Tai Kok Tsui, Yuen Long Chicken Land, etc. Although the environment is poor, there is no tables and chairs for guests to sit down and eat, but because the food is "cheap, tasty and decent", even if you want to stand and eat, the guests don't care much.

The 1960s and 1970s were the heyday of hawkers, with more than 300,000 people in the hawker industry, accounting for 20% of the labour force in Hong Kong. Because of the economic take-off at that time, the living environment of the citizens gradually stabilised, and the consumption pattern changed. Instead of living alone, it sought better living conditions and quality, so it provided hawkers with fertile soil for them to sprout and grow. At that time, there were no shopping malls, markets, and the government did not regulate hawkers, so the streets and alleys were all hawkers. In order to rectify the streets, the government made every effort to crack down on and supervise hawkers on the grounds of influencing the city.

The hawker is characterised by its strong mobility, the limited number and variety of goods, so the items sold here need to be "cheap平, beautiful 靚and decent正" to attract passing citizens in a short time. Hawkers decide to sell places and types of goods according to their experience and sensitivity to the environment. The means of wealth should be flexible, mobile, and also compatible with the type of goods sold. The government then arranges that mobile hawkers can return their licenses for 30,000 dollars , and can also choose to enter fixed hawker stalls on the streetside of various district markets (cagetable markets) or renting city council-specific street stalls, in order to eliminate street mobile vendors everywhere!

Today, fixed hawkers can find them in Huayuan Street (commonly known as Women's Street), Sham Shui Po, Wanchai, Central and other areas!
